Accomplishment
I have great pleasure to place annual report for the year 2023-24 along with our glorious journey of last 2 decades.
I cannot resist recalling my long stint as an Industries minister of the state of Karnataka during which time I encountered issues of employment of youth of the state. The opportunities and supply had a great mismatch. Since then, I was looking for a viable solution Moreover, I come from a rural background where the problem of school dropouts was paramount hence the model of this institute became handy to cater to the needs of the school dropouts and empowerment of women.
In this background, Canara Bank Deshpande RSETI was established with the primary objective to make youth and women empower to live respectable life with better economic conditions. Today after 2 decades I am happy to announce that more than 18,000 youth are settled through our institute by starting self- employment and are living respectable life at the same time the considerable exodus of youth to urban areas is restricted
The Institute touched upon lives of around 12000 women by training them in different vocations to earn and empower them. I am happy that my dream to elevate the lives of BPL families have come to a reality.
Our Institute being unique in the country as it has a separate division of rural development which reaches to the last mile of the society
In rural development initiatives we broadly concentrated on water resource management, Agri based development, empowering the women through SHG and to earn their livelihood, and health and hygiene we had carried innumerable programs related to these areas which had resulted in developing forest dominated taluk like Haliyal, Jolida, Dandeli and Mungoad
VISION
History is a background for future path I look forward for bright future for the Institute and its beneficianes India is in momentum of economic development and aspiring to be number 3 economy in the world as such i foresee the Institute taking up new challenges emerging on the economic horizon of India.
The services and hospitality sector are occupying dominant position in GDP of the country. With the view to meet these new emergent areas I trust the Institute will take up new innovative courses for youth and women to find new business opportunities.
The time has come to create an eco-system to support and accelerate existing small entrepreneurs produced by this institute so far and scout for new generation entrepreneurs to take up validated ideas as sustainable startups.
Urbanization of rural areas is rapid and to meet the new challenges the Institute will design new developmental initiatives for rural areas. I visualize by end of the next decade we would be touching lives of 1,00,000 rural families for their welfare and economic empowerment
