Empowering Rural Youth and Women
Sri V R Deshpande Memorial Trust (Regd.) Haliyal has established the Institute in collaboration with CanaraBank, we aim to address the socio-economic challenges faced by rural communities in North Karnataka. Our initiative targets the growing concern of rural-to-urban migration, offering skill training programs focused on self-employment, women’s empowerment, and entrepreneurship development.
Our journey
Initially known as Deshpande RUDSETI, established in July 2004, then Canara Bank was joined. The Institute was re-named as Canara Bank Deshpande RUDSETI. During 2012 we were recognized as RSETI by the Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India. Name of the Institute was again changed as Canara Bank Deshpande RSETI. Today, we are a leading institution in providing skill development training to rural youth and women.
Our Vision
Empowering rural youth by nurturing their talents and skills, fostering self-respect, and facilitating self-employment. We aim to create not only self-employment opportunities but also jobs for others within rural communities, contributing to local development and sustainability.
Our Philosophy
We believe in the potential of rural youth to carve their own path to success. Our philosophy revolves around making rural youth self-reliant, enabling them to earn a dignified livelihood and create their own identity through short-duration, skill-focused courses.
Our Objectives
- Raise Awareness: Inform rural youth about alternative livelihood avenues and opportunities for self-employment.
- Identify and Motivate: Engage rural youth to take the initiative for self-employment and develop their self-esteem.
- Entrepreneurship Training: Offer management and entrepreneurship training for personnel to cultivate leadership and business acumen.
- Formation and Support Self-Help Groups (SHGs): Forming new SHGs, training, and mentoring them to build their capacity for empowerment and income generation.

- Hosting an Exclusive LMV Driving Training Centre at Dandeli, supported by TATA Motors Ltd. Dharwad
- Establishing a JCB Operating Training Centre in association with LBCT, New Delhi, at Dandeli
